The new fascism in Germany is much closer than many believe. And the Greens are its most important political asset. Soon this new fascism will be directed against Russia – again.

“Greta Youth”

Fascism has a youthful face. The modern European fascism. When talking about the new European fascism, many people have in mind the traditional image of a bald guy with Springer boots, a tattoo in the shape of a swastika or numbers associated with the history of National Socialism; or politicians with ties, whose appearance, manner and use of language are reminiscent of Hitler or Mussolini. Such politicians exist in Europe today, albeit relatively few. A far more visible but so far unnoticed phenomenon is what the author commonly calls “green fascism”.

The aim of this article is to describe some of the characteristics of “green fascism” in Germany, the signs that are directly linked to the “anthropology of the modern German”. It is the uneducated, immature maximalist who knows exactly where the good is and where the evil is, and who is not prepared to compromise. It is a teenager who believes that he can change the world for the better, indeed, make it clean. Clean – clean. And without “adults”, without those who have made the world unclean. Without the old men who carry around their delusions, be they Nazis, communists or bourgeois conservatives. Without those who rant about eternal values but in reality can only preach and think of their own profit at the expense of future generations. The world will be improved and cleaned up by the “new managers”. Who they are follows a little later.

Fertile ground for immature maximalists and the “post-guilt” generation

The most fertile ground for the cultivation of immature maximalists (adolescent consciousness is not only a property of age, but also of a certain anthropological cross-section of civilisation) in Europe today is Germany. And here is why.

Today’s generation of Germans is the generation with the feeling of “post-guilt”, that is, those people who are aware of the guilt of their grandfathers and great-grandfathers and are aware of the global guilt of the German Nazis before humanity, but… – it is the guilt of another German people, with whom today’s population is no longer connected by a common history. “They”, i.e. “those Germans”, were the worst. But precisely because of this, “we” will surely be the best. “We” are the “good ones”.

This does not mean that the Germans of today have forgotten Germany’s guilt. Not at all. They know very well that “the” German people are guilty of the genocide committed by the Nazis against the Jews and Gypsies. Exactly so, and not otherwise. “Those Germans” were the absolute black. That is why today’s German (the author is speaking here of a certain middle German – not middle class and not average, but a “hero of his time” in whom the basic inertia of society is presumed) – today’s middle German consciously and unconsciously wants to be “the whitest”, the most virtuous, more than many material things in the world. And this means the following in the current paradigm of “black” and “white”: to be the most tolerant and the most implacable towards intolerance; to be the most “ecological” and the most intolerant towards those who violate ecological conventions; to be the champion of individual freedom and the most liberal; to be the harshest critic of autocracies.

Robert Habeck

Moreover, the “modern middle-aged German” often argues that he has lost the right to call himself a German because of Germany’s sordid Nazi past. He is a staunch European, twice as much as a Frenchman or a Pole. A German European is a German who has found a way to lift the shameful stigma from his shoulders. In this context, it is significant that one of the current Green party leaders and German Minister of Economics, Robert Habeck, claims that he feels sick at the mention of love for his country.

Cutting off the rudimentary past along with its elders is facilitated by the approach to the subject of history in schools. The focus is not on historical periods and their patterns, but on individual projects. Projects fragment historical processes and link topics from different periods according to evaluative principles of “values” (e.g. the study of dictatorships from different periods is one project, the study of revolutions is another. Thus, in a project today, the pupils can deal with Sparta, tomorrow with the Congress of Vienna and the day after tomorrow with the fall of the Berlin Wall).

The study of the so-called “isolated events” of the Great Patriotic War is another move in this game. The Battle of Stalingrad is an isolated event in which the Wehrmacht soldiers are portrayed either as victims or heroes, and the Red Army’s thirst to take Stalin’s city – that was explained at the time by the aims of Soviet propaganda, while today the theme of that army’s victory at Stalingrad is water and blood flowing into the mills of the Putin regime…. This methodical approach to teaching about the battle that turned the tide of the Great Patriotic War in German schools is an achievement of German pedagogy in recent years.

“Value-based” approach, voluntary withdrawal and the reference principle

But back to “black” and “white”. The reader should not be confused by this contradiction – how can one be tolerant and intransigent at the same time? It shouldn’t, because it doesn’t embarrass the “Middle German” at all. What is remarkable about his perception is the absence of any shame in the willful elimination of logical contradictions. One speaks of willful elimination when a contradiction in the interpretation of a thesis – for example, the thesis of law – is eliminated by an act of will based on the principle of “values”. For example, the precedent of Kosovo could not be compared with the precedent of Crimea, since the first case was broadly and at all costs about the promotion of “democracy” and the second case was about the triumph of “authoritarianism”.

We should bear in mind another characteristic of the “Middle German”: It cannot exist categorically in a situation of indeterminate good and evil. It has the following peculiarity: it needs an external authority to indicate in which field the absolute good, i.e. “white”, and in which field the “black” evil lies. (We call this the reference principle). The authoritative referent may be the fictional mirror, which “does not lie”, and if it does, as in the precedent of the “Syrian boy” invented by the titular journalist Klaas Relotius, then that is the rarest exception… It might be the “New York Times”. It could be Kennedy, it could be Obama. It must be a respondent who continues the line of those who made “the one old” Germany into “this present” Germany.

“White” is “Green”

Gradually, the “authorities” have succeeded in conveying to the “middle German” that “white” is “Europeanism”, that “white” is “gender tolerance”, that “white” is “green” and that “green” is not an anti-war movement at all, but a “clean peace movement” whose goals are to be achieved by any means, up to and including military ones, the hardest. It is a radical movement whose goal is the global change of the world order.

Dutchman Franz Timmermans, vice-chairman of the commission headed by Germany’s Ursula von der Leyen, which is responsible for global warming issues, says that the Russians should be deprived of control over the Arctic. The Russians, he says, treat the Arctic and global warming with disdain, even though the ice continues to melt. And if the Russians, who are expanding their military power in the Arctic, did not set limits, then the grandchildren of the Europeans would fight each other for bread and water! In other words, it is about planning a very real war in the name of the “whites” and against the new “blacks”. And there is a lot at stake – the fate of future generations of Europeans. The Dutch, the Germans, the French…. By the way, the plan to admit Finland and Sweden into NATO is a step on the path outlined by Timmermans…

Frans Timmermans

So, an end to the contradictions, on to a “pure” future. But to overcome the resistance of “evil” and “ballast”, a storm troop must be formed to tread this path. As an ideal leader of the children’s vanguard, Greta Thunberg turned out to be. She had remarkable qualities: she had self-confidence, an insane conviction that she was right, the ability to overcome logical structures in a childlike way, and – let’s not forget – she retired the old school and offered her own, new idiom instead. This idiom was eventually taken up by the youth, but by no means only by them.

Four years ago, in a West German city, the author witnessed with his own eyes how excited parents sent their children to demonstrations known as “Fridays for Future” (also known as “School Strikes for the Climate”) instead of going to school. And the few teachers who stuttered about the need for education and the unacceptability of disruption were criticised, if not ostracised. The children wrote complaints against such teachers and the adult headmasters heeded them. For not only these children but also their parents were convinced that radical change was needed on the globe.

And radical change cannot be accomplished in the usual, “school” way. Radical change requires radical action, not sitting behind a desk. The children of then and now, three or four years later, the activists in the youth sections of local and regional party organisations, believed that they would bring about this change (hence the name of the volunteer regiments that paraded through the streets of Germany on Fridays – “Greta Jugend”).

In other words, the classic citizen from the time of Helmut Kohl, Gerhard Schröder and Angela Merkel, who was more or less satisfied with the existing world order, was suddenly replaced by radicals. (A quote from a conversation about Germany’s political course to tighten relations with Russia in 2021 with a German PhD student, a technician from the generation of the fifties: “A nuclear war with Russia is less a catastrophe than an ecological catastrophe”).

But what exactly does this have to do with fascism? Remember that “fascism” is ligatures (fascia, connections). It is a principle of social organisation based on the ideology of acting in the name of justice and welfare. Justice is based on the principle of blood community, with a “higher” blood that binds our own and separates the outsiders. The “ours” will prosper. The “outsiders”, if they want to interfere, will perish. The division between “insiders” and “outsiders” must be hard, with no shame in violence.

Global “bundles”

But then who are they, today’s “insiders”, what is the principle of their association? Today’s “theirs” are no longer “Aryans”. They are those who clearly position themselves on the side of good and would have separated themselves definitively from the evil of the past. They are for a better world. They have an ideology and the principle of defining themselves and others. So what does this ideology consist of? It is a large collection of perceptions and associated patterns of action. An example of this looks like this.

Yale University offers such a programme: the “Yale World Fellows Programme”. According to the documents, the aim of this programme is to create a better world by building a global network of new kinds of leaders. The programme is funded by the Greenberg Foundation, which in turn was the successor to the famous Starr Foundation. The latter is one of the largest private foundations in the United States and is considered a pioneer of globalism. It emerged from a powerful insurance company founded in Shanghai in the 1920s.

Among the Engineers of the Future for a Better World who have gone through the Yale programme are many notable figures from different countries. Alexei Navalny, Leonid Volkov and some well-known personalities from Ukraine, e.g. Svjatoslav Vakarchuk, are also represented here. However, the author devotes his attention to the “German” graduate of the programme, Sergei Lagodinsky.

Lagodinsky is originally from Russia, but made his political career in Germany. After the last European Parliament elections, which were so successful for the German Greens, he became the main Russia expert among the Green MEPs. And the main mediator, the transmitter of the view that the contradictions between the West and Putin’s Russia are profound and fundamental in nature and should not be reduced to issues like “North Stream 2”.

So, what do we have in this example: there is something “good” in the form of a formulated vision of a “better world” that is necessarily global and liberal. There is a principle by which these very “fascists” are formed – bundles of people who would make the world a better place. They are managers of a special kind. There is a factory for the production of these people – the Yale programme, which literally holds them together (so says the constitution). There is the capital that stands behind these bundles and directs their actions. And there is an enemy, and not just any enemy, but the leader of the outcasts who are not ready for a “better world” and oppose it in every possible way, offering their own values.

For the “new Aryans”, they are the new Jews and communists who confuse the minds and corrupt the blood of the inhabitants of Europe. Their leader, this outcast, is the new Russia. The new Russia corrupts the environment, violates the “green conventions”, undermines the West’s enormous plans to create a green world energy, and opposes the modern image of man and his free sexual self-determination. It supports the opponents of the Atlantic free trade agreements, which are penetrating further and further into Europe. It, this Russia, must not only be defeated, but abolished, tied to a ghetto fence or better eradicated. Temporary successes would not suffice here, a clear victory would have to be won – over politics, over the economy and above all over culture, which has retained its power over many minds since ancient times.

This is not a wish. It is already a programme. If two or three years ago those who spoke of the emergence of a “green fascism” and the existence of such a goal could be located in a fringe group of conspiracy theorists, today the programme is openly proclaimed, with many outward manifestations typical of fascism and even National Socialism on the streets of Germany. And the aforementioned Lagodinsky has understood well and in time the strategic goal before which the bundles of new managers for a better world stand. Ambitious immigrants are often the most receptive to ideas aimed at destroying their ties to their own past…

Another representative of German “green fascism” is Annalena Baerbock, who was saddled on the “horse” of German politics at the last Bundestag election and made head of the German Foreign Ministry.

The sportswoman was disappointed by this result, however, because she had seriously set her sights on becoming Chancellor to replace Angela Merkel. Baerbock is not even Greta Thunberg, she is not able to move “the masses” to her ideological enemy. But she is acting in the same direction as Lagodinsky.

Annalena Beerbock

The “Baerbock case” highlights the following aspect. One of the characteristics of fascism is the presence of big capital, which stands behind the radical politicians and their storm troopers and fuels them for its own purposes. And capital calls for the fascist politicians, their storm troopers and the masses they raise when a crisis has arisen in the world of capital and a major revolutionary redistribution is in the offing or planned there.

The press is full of publications about what kind of global capital is behind the current attempt to “green redistribute” the world and how it is supposed to revive the blood of the financial magnates… The author only points out that Baerbock, who was to become chancellor, is also a puppet of international big business. Her husband played a decisive role in Mrs Baerbock’s ascent on the “horse” of German and European politics. He represented such a powerful globalist company as “Deutsche Post”, and it is hardly surprising that a campaign staff for Annalena in the last election campaign was organised by him in an unimaginably short time.

Ms Baerbock was accompanied by relative success. She did not get into the main office of the country, but into the Foreign Ministry. Incidentally, one of the reasons why the Greens did not beat the Social Democrats is that they took too harsh an anti-Russian stance at the time (shortly before the election, the polls saw Baerbock, Habeck and Co. with a clear advantage). Back then, the time for harsh anti-Russian statements had not yet come, but now the hour X has struck, and it has become not only possible but even necessary to reveal the true goals and hidden dreams. And the Foreign Ministry is a wonderful instrument for such declarations.

There is another aspect that connects green fascism and Ms Baerbock. Fascism needs its storm troopers. For without their strong arm it is impossible to break the resistance against the inertia of the old, conservative lifestyle. Greta Thunberg’s supporters, however, are not good enough to be storm troopers – they are physically soft…. And in this respect, one of Berbock’s first moves as foreign minister is interesting. She invited German-American Greenpeace activist and executive director Jennifer Morgan to become her advisor.

Morgan was involved in organising Greenpeace power actions that went far beyond the legal system of the Federal Republic of Germany. Nevertheless, Baerbock wanted to appoint her as state secretary and instructed her to set up new “green” departments with more staff at all German diplomatic missions in the world. And this is the gateway to the formation of a cadre that “decides everything”. One of the signs of a personnel revolution…

But of course the storm troopers of “green fascism” are not Greenpeace. An interesting observation was made by German and Belgian police officers during the youth riots that broke out in Brussels and a number of other European cities during the period of severe food restrictions. Both green activists and radical foreigners, including members of Islamist groups, vandalised shops and engaged in fights with police officers. Security experts then pointed to the phenomenon of contacts between Green globalists and the most conservative circles, including Islamists. Moreover, it was in fact a practical coordination between globalists and advanced Islamist networks. This is a model for mobilising storm troopers from the ranks of the “outsiders”. “Caliphs for an hour”, so to speak. For the hour X, to shake up the situation.

But there are other storm troopers. The “insiders”, so to speak. These are the mostly young people with whom the politicians started to Ukrainise Germany (especially so-called West Germany and Berlin) even before 2014. They, the fiery young Europeans from “Nezalezhnya” (Ukrainian for “the independent”), were repeatedly brought into the local media, analytical institutions, international NGOs and student circles. They were trained to become future leaders. Their greeting “Hail Ukraine, Hail the heroes!” did not embarrass the Germans even then.

And now this network not only sets the tone in the social sphere in Germany, but is the set of knots on strings dipped in water, now massively saturated with salt water from Ukrainian refugees and refugee women (remember the school experience with a string dipped in saturated salt water with a knot tied to it? ) Insiders in Cologne, Frankfurt am Main and Berlin have noticed that among the refugees there are many who wear certain tattoos reminiscent of the ideology of “Azov” regiment and who are convinced that they are the blue blood of the new Europe.
