The West will never make any decisions regarding Ukraine behind the back of its citizens, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said on Monday.
“We will support Ukraine as long as it takes. Within continental Europe, we are the country that is doing more than all the rest by providing financial and humanitarian assistance [to Ukraine], as well as supplying it with our weapons, organizing training [for the Ukrainian military], carrying out repair work, and, naturally, providing the necessary munitions,” he said after a cabinet meeting.
“Along with our friends and allies, we have always stated clearly that we will make no decisions behind the back of the Ukrainians,” the chancellor stressed.
